By joining HAL, your membership extends well beyond your own fitness journey. Every penny helps fund FREE community gym & fitness classes for local youth, seniors, people with disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. You get to feel good and do good too by supporting the Brixton community. We currently run 7 FREE classes per week, but with your help, we can do even more!

Explore quick answers to common questions, or contact us for more support.
Do I need to sign up for a membership to use your gym or come to classes?
Nope. We have flexible options to suit your training schedule. Here are your options:
Pay per class: You can sign up for a single mobility class for £15 per class.
Multi-class packs: Want to join us often? Buy a class pack and save.
Monthly memberships (best value): If you’re training more than 1 session per week, our monthly memberships are the best option if you’re a regular gym-goer. We have multiple options available, but our unlimited monthly membership is our best value package (and one of our most popular options).
You can check out all our pricing, trials & membership options here >
How do I sign up for a class or training session?
You can view our membership options or class passes on our memberships page.
Once you’ve entered your details, you can sign up for classes here.
You must sign up to each class before attending to secure your spot as they are limited by capacity.
What do I bring to gym with me?
Please bring:
- Comfortable clothing and gym attire.
- Closed-toe athletic shoes or gym trainers (or grip socks if you prefer these for attending pilates or mobility sessions).
- A refillable water bottle.
- A sweat towel, plus an extra one if you’re showering/changing (we do not supply towels).
How do I check in to class or open gym session?
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before the class starts.
Unfortunately, failure to arrive on time will result in you missing class as we do not allow latecomers to enter the class once it has started.
Do I need to do a class, or can I come and use the gym on my own?
At our most popular times in the morning, midday and evening, our capacity is limited to people who reserve a spot for our classes.
However, if you prefer to use the gym on your own, you can book in to any of our open gym sessions. Check out our open gym schedule on our timetable page.
